This is Me, Plain and Simple

Hi there to all the quirky and curious minds reading this. Firstly, welcome. Welcome to a one year journey with me as I immerse you in the comings and goings on of my life, my projects and myself. A journey of growth, personal exploration...and self induced sleepless nights.

So Hi!

My name is Tanya Nadia Geel and I am a 4th year Interior Design student in Port Elizabeth doing my B-Tech year. Why did I choose Interior Design as a profession? Simple: because is it the perfect marriage of technical competence, creative expression and, of course, coffee fueled 3am mornings of brainstorming sessions and procrastination.

I consider myself to be quite a complex mixture of maturity, childishness and geekiness, mixed together with a creative mind and curious nature. I love vintage, feminine and old fashioned things; I very much believe that I was born in the wrong era. However, I can school you in a battle of wits on subjects such as Star Wars, Marvel and Rick and Morty. So imagine a strong minded feminine woman with 6 Star Wars T-Shirts in her cupboard and doing embroidery while watching cartoons and you will have me. Weird but proud of it.

I am highly and incomparably addicted to coffee. Any coffee. All coffee. I love coffee. I am coffee.
I also have an inherent passion for young people, being teenagers and students. I am passionate about their mental wellbeing, personal growth and ultimately, their happiness, and I believe that Interior Design can play a small part in accomplishing this. I also highly believe that Interior Design holds the potential to change lives, improve happiness and social equality and make the world beautiful to be in. I am therefore very proud of and honoured to be a part of this profession; a profession of creative idealists striving to make the world a better place.

So, join me as I update you on my B-Tech project process, the design thereof, as well as total random and irrelevant information on my life as a student. Let's have a few inspirational laughs.

Stay positive and quirky...
