Product Design 01: The Earthwalker Stool

I love designing products. I think subliminally I also wanted to design products above spaces; I am so intrigued by detail design, and making something small but beautiful and unique. So when the opportunity arose to design 2 products as part of our project this year, I was incredibly excited. The only problem was: where to start...

I looked at my space, my design and the atmosphere I wanted to create and finally came up with 2 products which I think will be widely used within the space, and which are different and one-of-a-kind.
So firstly, I would like to introduce the EARTHWALKER STOOL. I designed it around the Earthwalker sunflower in its characteristics, look and materials:

- Earthwalker = close to the earth and therefore the stool is directed on the ground
- One of the most robust sunflowers = solid and secure shape and structure
- sharp pointed petals = carved shapes with points
- Available in many colours = many functions from one stool

Below you can see a picture of the beautiful flowers and some of their characteristics:

When I designed my stool, I didn't want it to be overloaded with colour, and therefore the only characteristic which I didn't adopt was the strong colours. Below you can see the stool and its assembly detail. I am very proud of this project and am in love with the final outcome and overall look.
