Final project outline 02: Logo reveal



My brand and identity is something which, unlike everything else about this project so far, came naturally to me. I wanted to create something both structured and organic, while being creative and recognisable. It was also important for the brand to speak to the target market, being us students, and I wanted the logo to seamlessly integrate into the space.

Using a sunflower as my conceptual inspiration and the idea of structural organisation and theory vs organic creativity and flow, a logo was born and the name ILANGA, meaning "sun" in Xhosa, was manipulated into a simple yet striking logo. Finally, my mind can start picturing and appreciating the space and the look and feel can slowly be established. After a few months of rocky starts, demotivating work sessions and many changes and setbacks, the space and its identity and vision is coming to life and I am excited to start sharing the unfolding design and concept of the building.

So here it finally is: ILANGA - the creative hub.
