Light Design: The final

And here she is. I must say, it was by no means easy goings, a lot of stress and sleepless nights went into making this light what it is now. But I am incredibly proud and grateful for the opportunity to have seen something I created come to life! I think the result is beautiful and even thought she isn't perfect, she has character - and a lot of history.

I designed this light around my concept of a sunflower, and tried to abstractly show the flower's characteristics in the design. The materials and fittings were chosen with sustainability and functionality in mind - and also, I LOVE copper!

So, after a long process and many, many, many trips back to the drawing board, here she is: The Chianti Light.

The cork dome was NOT fun to figure out. Due to a tight budget I ended up making a lot of elements myself, and even though I'm super proud, I'm no professional. This dome took more re-tries than I'd like to admit.

I'm so grateful to the ladies at Crankshaw Marble and Granite for their help! Not only did they see my vision, but helped to choose the correct weight, bevel and size and had it drilled for me at no extra cost. I really suggest using them for any granite work you need done!!
